Melbourne Page Roundtable: The Last Correspondent with the AFR’s Mike Smith

After COVID interrupted 2020, Page in Australia is pleased to hold its first 2021 roundtable with highly respected journalist and author Michael Smith.

Michael has 25 years of experience as a business and international affairs reporter, including most recently as the Australian Financial Review’s correspondent in China.  After a dramatic departure from Shanghai in September 2020, Michael has written his first book, “The Last Correspondent, Dispatches from the Frontline of Xi's China.”

This is a special virtual opportunity for Page members, Page Up members and guests in Australia to hear from Mike following the recent publication of his book before he heads to Tokyo at the end of June to be the Australian Financial Review’s Asia correspondent and cover the Olympics.  Mike’s perspective of China is particularly relevant given the growing complexity of Australia’s most important trade relationship.
