In-Person Midwest Regional Meeting: Let’s Talk About the Metaverse

Big bets are being placed on the metaverse. 

Explore the metaverse while mixing and mingling in real life with your fellow Page and Page Up Midwest members at the first in-person regional gathering in over two years. On May 11, at 5:30 p.m., we’ll convene at DePaul University to learn about the metaverse and what it may mean for communicators from Dr. Paul Booth, director of the DePaul Virtual and Augmented Reality Communication (VARC) Lab. 

All attendees will have the opportunity to try on VR headsets, experience the latest VR and AR technology, and ask questions to Dr. Booth and his student assistants. 

Following the reception at DePaul’s Media Commons at the downtown Loop campus, you’ll continue the conversation with fellow Midwestern Page and Page Up members at an offsite dinner at Roanoke, only a short walk away, at 7:30 p.m.

This event will be hosted by Matt Ragas, Ph.D. of the DePaul professional communication graduate program, and Judy Rader of Constellation. You’re welcome to join for the immersive learning portion, the dinner or both!
