As the pandemic persists, the way we work and the environment we work in has changed. As companies contemplate how they emerge stronger from this crisis, an important consideration is how these changes can affect diverse segments of stakeholders in different ways. For instance, remote work can be a boon for many. But for women, who are disproportionately burdened with family care, it can compromise work-life balance. For younger employees, remote work may increase anxiety about proving value while more seasoned managers may question its impact on productivity. As plans are made for a ‘new normal,’ it is imperative that we think about these challenges through the lens of diversity, equity and inclusion.
